Ok, your band was nominated for our Best of NYC poll (the Readers' Poll can be found in the right column here), Huzzah!
Now you may wonder what the prizes linked to this poll are, and maybe also how you ended up on this list and how everything works...
Well, this page tries to answers these questions, while this page has the poll's rules.
Let's go in order:
WHY AM I IN THIS LIST?
The thing about our year end poll is that (unlike too many others) artists don't have to submit to it. We asked people from your music scene such as promoters, bloggers, DJs and record store owners to tell us what their favorite emerging artists of 2015 were, and your band was mentioned. Some artists also qualify through our Open Submissions.
WHO WINS THE POLL?
The first thing you need to be aware of is that there will be two winners:
1. The winner of the Composite Chart - which adds up all the votes we gather from jurors, deli writers and readers. Here are the results from last year.
2. The winner of the Readers/Fans Poll - which only considers the results of the poll open to the public (when active, you can find it on the right column here).

WHAT'S THE DELI'S MISSION AND REPUTATION
The Deli is the only website that covers emerging bands and artists in their local scene. Our mission is to foster and expose new and exciting local music.
In 2005 Grizzly Bear was on the cover of our first NYC print issue. Previous Poll winners and top artists include: Foxygen (2013), Lucius (2012), Porches (2014), Yeasayer (2008) Chairlift (2009), Vampire Weekend (2007), The Dodos (2008), Vivian Girls (2008), Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (2006), Freelance Whales (2009), Local Naatives (2009) Talk Normal (2009), and Bear in Heaven (2009) among others. The goal of this poll is to create a list as accurate as possible of the best emerging artists our local scene has expressed in 2010.
