Beast Patrol plays Glasslands on December 7

With a unique band name and their hardcore leather ensemble in tow, Beast Patrol has just about everybody fooled. The NYC band is described as a psychedelic-indie rock band at best, but we at the Deli can’t help to fall in love with their dream pop undertones. The soft delicate voice of lead singer Vanessa Bley captured Rolling Stone’s attention in 2013 (The Deli was about a year ahead)and now the band has all of NYC’s rock enthusiasts under their spell as well since the band’s inception in 2012. The band has released the Unarm Yourself EP earlier in June and will be playing one of Brooklyn’s Glasslands final shows on December 7 before the venue closes their doors by year’s end for good. It will also be the band’s last live appearance of the year. - Robert Frezza

Seen at The Deli's B.E.A.F.: Beast Patrol

At a packed Cameo Gallery, Beast Patrol headlined on Saturday the Alt Rock stage of our Best of NYC Emerging Artists Fest 2013 (also known as The NYC B.E.A.F.), sharing the stage with Apollo RunSeasick Mama, Teen Girl Scientist Monthly and Vuvuzela). Fronted by Vanessa Bley on vocals and guitar, the trio performs with confidence and precision songs that marry open melodies, rock'n'roll punch, and a dark and tense undercurrent. The band's video for Disbeliever created a remarkable buzz last year, while the one for "Plaster" (streaming below) confirmed this band's potential. With an appeal reminiscent of bands like The Pretenders and late Eurythmics, this is a group that has the potential to be enjoyed by many.

Beast Patrol will perform at Northside on Thursday 06.13 at 2 pm during BMI's Creators Kickoff luncheon at Mable's Smokehouse.

Josh's CMJ day 3: Beast Patrol, Thomas Simon, Sewing Machines, JJAMZ, Linfinity, MS MR.

The third day of CMJ is the festival’s Humpday. Once Day Three ends, the festival is already more than half-over. Now that I’m halfway done with running the CMJ Marathon, I feel pretty good about my journey towards the finish line, although I realize that while my marathon numbers are solid, they aren’t as good as Paul Ryan’s. Of course, Ryan made up his marathon times on the spot, so at least I’m winning in the endurance department. - Read the full report by Josh S. Johnson here.

Beast Patrol celebrates first EP release at Bowery Electric 10.3

Vanessa Bley, who at the start of the year released her own solo debut EP, has now officially teamed up with the two friends who've been playing with her since the start of this venture. Under the name Beast Patrol, the three of them are on the way towards a first output as a band, Fierce & Grateful EP, which they introduced about a month ago with vaporous post-punk jam 'Plaster'. Streaming below is 'Disbeliever', the latest preview, a glimpse of the fierce side we didn't get to meet yet coming through ferocious vocals and angry drums; nothing like Plaster, no smothered dance beats, this track's got a message to deliver and is going for it. Available September 25th (via their own label Space Camp Radio), the EP will be welcomed on October 3rd with a show at the Bowery Electric.
