Fishdoctor releases new single + plays Pianos on 11.30

There is an appealing retro quality to “Jackets,” the latest single from NYC croon pop sextet Fishdoctor. With its warm reverberated vocal wash enveloping a moderately quick paced intro, space soon emerges for clear lyrical imagery. Hearkening back to early 80’s MTV hitmakers like Spandau Ballet, The The and Haircut 100, an unencumbered verse sets up the progression to follow. When the change comes, its grandiose swirl would make the aforementioned bands proud. “In the hour where we all come to life,” emerges as the dominant vocal hook, extolling a fascination with the possibilities that await us, where the garment mentioned in the song title also becomes the symbol of the psychological shields we often wear in public. See Fishdoctor live at Pianos on 11.30. - Dave Cromwell

NYC's Fishdoctor unveils new track + plays Pianos on 07.27

As surprising as it may seem, this summer hasn't handed us enough beach-oriented rock yet. I hear a lot of mopey new wave, but not enough rocking tributes to the surf. Well... the wait is finally over. Fishdoctor's latest release, 'Atlantic,' gives you all the warm waves you need, amid a dire, guitar-soaked warning about the Atlantic Ocean 'swallowing you whole.'

Listen to the exclusive track premiered below, and catch them at Piano's next weekend on Sat, July 27th. - Mike Levine (@Goldnuggets)

Fishdoctor lands July residency at Pianos starting July 16

I almost feel like every single venue should have residencies - our life would be so much easier, because no promoters would commit to give a band 3-4 shows in a month if they weren't confident about the band's quality, live show and drawing ability. Indie pop Brooklynites Fishdoctor just landed a July residency at Pianos and we can see why. Their May release "The Swell" is crammed with catchy and energetic songs which have the potential to entertain all kind of crowds. First show of the residency is on July 16 at 9pm.
