Golden Animals

Golden Animals tour the US with The Black Angels

Tommy Eisner (guitar/lead vocals) and Linda Beecroft (drums/backing vocals) continue to evolve their bluesy psych rock sound as Golden Animals, who is currently running for our Best of NYC 2013 Poll for Emerging Artists after taking second place in the Psych Rock/Dream Pop Open Submissions.

With three previous recordings already under their belt, their latest full-length “Hear Eye Go” was released this past fall on Reverberation Appreciation Society, the label imprint closely associated with Austin’s Psych Fest. “All Your Life” emphasizes a big vocal chorus countered with snake charmer descending guitar line verses. “Most My Time” successfully straddles the line between Iggy & The Stooges' motor city blues and Jim Morrison’s early Doors output. The accompanying video weaves disquieting images of the duo alongside bizarre amusement park footage shot while on tour in Vienna last year. The band will soon be joining The Black Angels and Roky Erickson for a 20 plus date U.S. tour, pairing early psychedelic innovators with present day practitioners. - By Dave Cromwell

Golden Animals announce releases + European dates

If you wish to be written up by an Italian music blogger, all you need to do is play music with Ennio Morricone influences... it took us 5 seconds to detect them on Baltimore and NYC based band's Golden Animals' single 'You Don't Hear Me Now' - streaming on their Bandcamp page. That happened about 2 minutes ago by the way... such was the URGE!!!

The single, which should be featured in a (psychedelic) indie remake of "For a Fistful of Dollars," is a preview from a full length scheduled to release in September. The band will also have a split 7" with Baltimore's Flying Eyes out soon under German label H42, to coincide with the two bands' late summer mini European tour, consisting - at this stage - of 3 gigs in Germany. Let's call it a Germany mini-tour. Can't wait to have these guys back in NYC!
