Las Rosas release "Christa" 7", open for Dirty Fences at Rough Trade on 2.15

Psychedelic garage rockers Las Rosas have released a new 7", Christa, on Greenway Records. While the title track is the first single for the band's sophomore LP coming this May, the 7" also sports an exclusive B-side, "Lost Cat." Christa is out on pink vinyl with a limited pressing of 200 copies and can be streamed below and purchased here. Las Rosas recently played a release show for the 7" on 2.1 with The Nude Party at Baby's All Right, and are set to open for Dirty Fences alongside Animal Show and Wives at Rough Trade on 2.15. Las Rosas releases debut LP at Baby's All Right on 04.08

We caught Las Rosas at an afternoon CMJ party on the (apparently) final edition of the Music Marathon in 2015, and it was obvious the guys didn't lack good songwriting chops and the character necessary to make them shine. Since then, they've been extremely active in the NYC scene and beyond and even ventured to Europe earlier this year for a few dates. They are now releasing their debut album, wishful thinking-ly titled "Everyone Gets Exactly What They Want," and it confirms our early positive impressions. It's a very enjoyable psych garage record with traces of '50/60s pop revival, bolstered up by Jose Boyer's raspy tenor, full of charisma and melodic ideas that are the foundation of this band's DNA. Las Rosas will celebrate the release of the album at Baby's All Right on April 8th with other noteworthy locals Breanna Barbara and Juan Wauters. Check out their new video for "Boys," below.

Las Rosas tour Europe, play SXSW and then Baby's All Right on April 8th

In the crowded Brooklyn garage rock scene, Las Rosas stands out for catchiness, character. and authenticity. The band's profile has been rising quite a bit in 2016, so much so that they are currently on a European tour that take them through the Check Republic, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain, the UK and the Netherlands. They'll be in Austin for SXSW with a show at Hotel Vegas on March 18th, and then back to NYC for a home performance at Baby's All Right on April 8th. Check out their recent video for single 'Boys,' streaming below.

Las Rosas unveil 'Cops' from upcoming debut + play Rough Trade on 07.01

Brooklyn’s Las Rosas have come a long way since releasing their first two EPs of lo-fi rock songs, little more than rehearsal space recordings served as invitations to check out their live show. After building some buzz through a fair amount of gigging and some touring, the band is about to chrystalize their psych garage pop repertoire in their debut full length “Everyone Gets Exactly What They Want,” set to drop this summer via Ernest Jenning. Recorded at Mitch Easter’s Fidelitorium in Kernersville NC, the LP’s first single “Cops” can be heard below. Las Rosas has three NYC area shows coming up, with the first on July 1 at Rough Trade in Brooklyn.  Later that month they play Rippers in Rockaway Beach on July 23, and then back to Brooklyn for a show at Baby’s All Right on August 5. - Dave Cromwell

Las Rosas showcase their vintage flair at Rough Trade on April 23

While we were checking out the listings at Rough Trade (see previous post) we stumbled upon Brooklyn's revival pop trio Las Rosas. Their song will cast the listener to a vintage musical world where the cheeky melodies of the British pop bands of the '60s (think Kinks) meet with the "beachy" psychedelic pop that invaded the west coast of the US during that same decade. The nasal lead vocals have a cool tone that works perfectly in the mix, and is balanced by well crafted falsetto harmonies. The band released a five song EP entitled "Flower in the Sun" in the spring of 2014, and then a two song single the following November including Ms. America (streaming below). You can catch them at Rough Trade on 04.23 opening for once NYC (and now Nashville) based Clear Plastic Masks.
