Psychic Twin

Psychic Twin releases single "Lose Myself" + plays Rough Trade on 6/24

Alongside a new lead single, Psychic Twin unveiled a September 9th drop date for their debut LP Strange Diary, that's been four years in the making. If the track, entitled "Lose Myself" is any indication, it might have been worth the wait. Erin Fein, vocalist and main force behind the project, immerses her feathery voice in grimy synths and drum machine grooves to create a contrasting synth-pop sound that feels fresh while still delivering a nice dose of nostalgia. NYC artist on the rise: Psychic Twin

Brooklyn via Chicago Erin Fein’s brain baby, Psychic Twin was born out of a love for electronic pop music, new wave sounds of the past, and the unattainable notion of being two places at once. Her upbeat rhythms and frantic keyboard arpeggios lay the foundation for incredibly danceable songs from another life; but it doesn’t stop there. Doubled vocals, coupled with lengthier synth drones and the backing of project-mate Sean Hutchinson, create an effect almost ghostly and disturbing, adding depth and texture to the project. Fein’s hushed singing makes the music personal and intimate, lovely as a whole atop catchy complexity. Psychic Twin is scheduled to play an all electronic Deli stage at the Northside Fest this coming June – JP Basileo

Top 10 Tracks of 2013: #9

Psychic Twin (Erin Fein & now Sean Hutchinson) released a fantastic single this year called "Strangers" on Polyvinyl and then relocated to Brooklyn. The b-side to "Strangers" was the synth heavy "Dream State" and truly out shined the it's A-side in my opinion.
