Satellite Mode release dreamy single "Terrified"

Satellite Mode return with a brand new single, "Terrified", the follow-up to their previous release "Gave It All". Where the year's earlier release hollowed out hearts with its thundering sound, "Terrified" -- although about the love of fear -- turns more major-key pop and highlights Jessica Carvo's melodic talent and Alex Marko's ear for catchy chord progressions. This marks the fourth single released this year alone, which gives fans hope that a new release following 2017's Wild Excuses is on the way. The band hasn't made any big announcements yet, however, they've spent the year bouncing from coast to coast, releasing videos and singles, and getting their music on Sirius AltNation - among other radio stations. But 2018 isn't over yet, so there may be more from Satellite Mode still to come. Listen to "Terrified" below. - Will Sisskind

Satellite Mode unveils new single + plays Irving Plaza tonight (01.06)

We gave NYC's indie pop duo Satellite Mode a "Buzz Alert" back in November (yo, when we say it, we mean it!), and we are glad today to find out they are playing Irving Plaza... tonight! These guys just released a new single, entitled 'Warm Fire Lightning' (streaming below) that confirms their talent what good we had to say about them a couple of months ago. This is quality pop that feels timeless. If you move fast, you might still be able to grab a ticket for tonight's show, they are opening for Great Good Fine OK. If not, well... enjoy the new single!

Buzz Alert: Satellite Mode releases single “Warm Fire Lightning,” plays Mercury on 12/2

After years spent writing songs for other acts (the technical term is "ghost-writing"), about a year ago, New Yorkers Jess Carvo and Alex Marko decided it was time to "come out:" a tragedy in Jess’s family paved new paths in the band’s direction and sound, in a way that made their songs too personal to be signed off to others. That's how electro-pop duo Satellite Mode was born. Just a month ago they gathered all the singles released in the past year in the approproiately named 'Singles' EP.  Their brand new track “Warn Fire Lightning” (streaming) features undulating electronic textures set behind haunting, pop-tinged melodies. Check out the song below and come see Satellite Mode live at Mercury Lounge with Slow Sugar on December 2nd. Let’s hope there’s more to come in the near future! - Ashley Muniz
