Win and Woo Remixed

Win and Woo released their hit single “Chicago”, which features Bryce Fox, earlier this year. This week the duo of Nick Winholt & Austin Woo released a series of remixes by the likes of Shades, INZO, Tropix, and AUGUSTII.

You can catch Win and Woo at Aragon Ballroom on November 24th.

New Track: "Hofner" - Night Bloom

J. Termini (a.k.a. Telequanta) and Patrick Schlitzer join creative forces as Night Bloom. Bright keys and a funky, lo-fi undercurrent lay the foundation to their new single “Hofner.” Entranced by the groove, a melodic cosmic tale of yearning emerges. BTW: I think that we’ve made up our mind.

Wiki releases new album 'No Mountains In Manhattan'

We’re finally at that point in our relationship with Wiki that he’s starting to let us in.  Where in Ratking, he and Hak bewitched us with visceral depictions of graffiti and skateboarding life from Harlem to Coney, now he’s solo and waxing philosophic.  In No Mountains in Manhattan, Wiki tells us how he really feels about everything from publicists to systemic racism.  He’s never preachy, and his flow is that perfect meld of NYC street style and afro-futurism.  The premier video “Mayor” shows him campaigning the streets dispersing “WIKI for Mayor” stickers while he asserts his indelible connection to his NYC fam.  Whether he wins against the incumbent or not, he certainly reigns supreme over the world he creates for us with his expert rhymes.

God Tiny Drops new video for "Awaken," plays Mercury on 09.23

There is nothing small about God Tiny's sound: the Brooklyn-based psych/garage rockers serve up frenetic, down-and-dirty rock action, and their new video for single, "Awaken," perfectly deliver that action and that dirt on a visual level. The black-and-white work features a female protagonist, roaming the streets and taking names and is chocks full of the vintage vibes, visceral kicks and (literal) punches that we've come to love from the band. The clip is a real treat, and seeing such a gutsy, raw, and fun visual accompaniment to God Tiny's music is something we never knew we needed, but we're not sure if we could now live without. Check out "Awaken" streaming below, and catch the band live at The Mercury Lounge (where we're sure they'll be taking some names of their own) on 9/23. - Olivia Sisinni

Debut Mary Veils LP Available for Streaming & Purchase

As the summer fades into mere memory, The Mary Veils, the lo-fi, psych vehicle of Brian Von Uff, rears its gnarly head with Slacker Paint. Low-and-slow, smoke-saturated songs retain their flavor, accented by raw, surf tones. Through the haze of fuzz-laced guitar riffs, the vocals leak through, as a seemingly lackadaisical, calming presence. In the midst of those fire-under-ones-feet grooves and swells, a roaring, untamed blaze of instrumentation waits to engulf at any moment, which makes for a surprisingly most excellent debut.
