New Track: "Building Broken Steps" - Three Man Cannon

Three Man Cannon’s forthcoming self-titled LP will be released on March 16 via Lame-O Records. Its lead single, “Building Broken Steps,” casually rolls up on you. A loose, strolling, laidback aesthetic is well-honed, maintaining a mature outlook in the face of the ache of anecdotal lyricism. Pivoting perspective in a singular moment, the song, which initially feels breezy, in time, hits harder. (Photo by Craig Scheihing)

A Deli Premiere: Ellisa Sun's "Evening" Video

A previous Deli SF featured artist of the month, Ellisa Sun is the creator of a breezy brand of acoustic soul that is at once tender and raw. She channels her perchance for vulnerability in her newest video for “Evening” (streaming below), which The Deli SF is proud to premiere this Valentine’s Day. Puppy-lovers be warned, this is not a video for the honeymoon phase.

Featuring a storyline between two women in a relationship, the video takes the viewer through a scenario that any lover would fear: an intense happiness that settles into a frantic anger, and then ultimately indifference. All of this is set to Ellisa Sun’s dynamic vocals, which are filled with a power that grows by the second. Join our lonely hearts’ club and check the video out below. - Lilly Milman

New Cold Fronts Valentine's Day Covers EP Available for Streaming & Purchase

"I’ve wanted to make a cover album for a while because whenever I can’t write a song, I try to learn somebody else’s," Cold Fronts' Craig Almquist shared. "When I started putting together the EP I realized all the songs I was covering were about unrequited love, and what better day to put that out than on Valentines Day." Whether you have someone or not on this Hallmark-est of holidays, take Cover Yr Heart for a spin below, and feel free to fork over a bit of cash to make it your own. All proceeds will be donated to Girls Rock Philly, "a youth-centered music organization dedicated to building an intergenerational community of girls, women, and trans and gender non-conforming people." And don't forget to cop Cold Front's forthcoming album Fantasy Du Jour, which is due out on 4/20. (We know that it might be hard for you to remember that day so be a smart, little stoner and leave yourself a note where you like to keep your stash ASAP. ;-) (Photo by Bridgette Aikens)

Debut Orange Jewel EP Available for Streaming & Download

Orange Jewel recently served up its debut EP IUS, and it sure sounds tasty. Blending fire-starting riffs and mellow, daydreaming melodies, there’s an assertive instrumental acceleration, tempered by emotive awareness. Whether catching a lift in the energetic caravan or relaxing in the subdued surf/jazz serenade, this collection refreshes the mind. It's just what your ears ordered.

Crosslegged opens Hovvdy record release with ambient-electro folk 2.16

It’s easy to call to mind artists similar to Crosslegged, but it’s not easy to think of artists that actually sound like Crosslegged. Behind the music made by Brooklyn artist Keba Robinson under the Crosslegged name is a sense of invention and adventure. There’s something in common with the delicate songwriting of folk, the melodic ease of pop, the precise arrangements of electronic music, but Crosslegged fits neatly into none of these categories. There’s more in common here with the innovative work of artists like Bjork, Sufjan Stevens, or Kate Bush. The excitement of originality is what makes Robinson's work worth following. You can see the next performance February 16th when Crosslegged opens for Hovvdy’s record release show at Baby’s All Right. – Cameron Carr
